Icelandic carrier JetX has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-800.

Based in Kopavogur, Iceland, JetX is leasing the aircraft from Los Angeles-based aircraft leasing company International Lease Finance Corporation.

JetX, a charter and sub-service carrier that operates its aircraft for other airlines on an ACMI basis--which means it provides the aircraft, crew, maintenance and the insurance for the operation--will operate a fleet of 737-800s for Primera Travel Group.

Primera is the largest tour operator in Iceland and one of the largest in Scandinavia. It provides charter flights from Iceland, several Scandinavian cities and Finland to destinations in Europe, Canada and the Caribbean.
