The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken on the services of two leading executives to provide support to a major review of its processes and procedures. Keith Bogg, Group IS Director of insurance company Catlin, will chair a Risk and Assurance Board that has been set up to monitor the modernisation of many of the regulator's business processes. Trevor Didcock, Chief Information Officer at easyJet, will also be a member of the Board.

The CAA's "Performance and Process Improvement" pro

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has begun issuing the new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) pilot licences. The first licences, which will replace JAR and many older 'national' versions, were printed for the first time at the CAA's Gatwick headquarters earlier today. The transition process to the new pan European format is expected to last five years.

Good morning, Chairman Petri, Ranking Member Costello and members of the subcommittee. As you just heard from Deputy Secretary Porcari, NextGen is happening now.

It's not something we are doing alone. It's a public-private partnership that will enhance the safety of our aviation system and lay the groundwork for the United States to continue to operate the safest aviation system in the world.

I've made it a priority to step up our collaboration with our stakeholders externally to increase the focus on NextGen and to bring benefits to the traveling public now.

Thank you for the opportunity to appear before you today to discuss the benefits of the Next Generation Air Transportation System, or NextGen. This is my first appearance before this Committee since starting at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and I am pleased to have the opportunity to get to know you all.

This facility represents an exciting expansion of the Federal Aviation Administration's NextGen testing operations. I am pleased to be able to join you here in Florida.

Good morning, Chairman Latham, Ranking Member Olver, and Members of the Subcommittee. Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the Administration's FY 2013 budget request for the FAA.

Our $15.2 billion budget is a fiscally responsible investment. It supports our mission to deliver the safest and most efficient aviation system for the traveling public. This budget allows us to maintain appropriate staffing for air traffic control, to keep pace with safety inspections and to continue critical investments in both airport infrastructure and in NextGen technologies.
